Serving as the program capstone, this course explores frontier developments shaping the future landscape of clinical informatics. Students evaluate the clinical, technical, and privacy implications of integrating Patient-Generated Health Data (PGHD) from wearables via specialized APIs. Significant focus is dedicated to guiding the implementation of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) for clinical summarization, performing prompt engineering, and auditing models to prevent algorithmic bias, model drift, and AI hallucinations. It also integrates sustainable “Green IT” principles to align digital deployment with environmental ESG criteria.
